Learn what Restoryed Families is, who we serve, and how we work with communities.

What is Restoryed Families?
Restoryed Families is a nonprofit built to strengthen youth and families impacted by foster care, adoption, kinship care, and crisis. We connect churches, communities, and social services to provide practical, ongoing support so families don’t have to navigate hardship alone.
Who do you serve?
We serve biological families, foster families, adoptive families, kinship caregivers, and youth aging out of foster care who do not have family support or stable resources.
Are you a foster care agency?
No. We are not a placement agency or licensing organization. We do not remove or place children. We provide support, resources, and community to families and youth involved in or impacted by the foster care system.
Do you work with churches?
Yes. A core part of our mission is helping churches understand how to practically support families in crisis within their own communities. We help bridge the gap between faith communities and social services, so support is more consistent and relational.
Why is this needed?
Through more than 22 years of lived experience, we saw that many families in crisis were not lacking care—they were lacking sustained support, relationships, and resources. Without those, families often struggle to stabilize, even when they deeply want to stay together.
Do you only serve families who are “in crisis”?
We focus on crisis and high-need situations, but prevention is also part of our work. Supporting families early can reduce unnecessary foster care placements and shorten time in care when reunification is possible.
How do you support youth aging out of foster care?
We help connect youth to relationships, resources, housing support pathways, mentorship, and community so they are not stepping into adulthood completely alone.
Is Restoryed Families faith-based?
Yes. Our work is rooted in Christian faith and the belief that God restores what is broken and cares deeply for vulnerable children and families. However, we serve all families regardless of background or belief.
Do you provide direct foster care placements?
No. We do not license foster homes or place children. Instead, we support the families and caregivers who are already doing that work, as well as the biological families working toward reunification.
How can I get involved?
People can support through volunteering, partnering through churches, donating, or helping provide resources and mentorship for families and youth in need.
What makes Restoryed Families different?
We are not focused on a single point in the system; we focus on the entire family network. Our goal is long-term support, not short-term intervention, and building relationships that continue beyond a crisis moment.

What We Are Not

Clarifying what Restoryed Families does not do, and how we fit alongside existing systems.

Are you a foster care agency?
No. We are not a licensing agency, placement agency, or DSS organization. We do not remove children or place children into foster homes.
Do you make custody decisions?
No. We are not involved in court decisions, custody rulings, or legal determinations regarding children or families.
Are you a crisis intervention or emergency removal service?
No. We do not respond to emergencies or conduct removals. We come alongside families after involvement begins or when support is needed.
Do you replace churches or social services?
No. We do not replace existing systems—we connect and strengthen them. Our role is to bridge gaps, not duplicate services.

Donor & Supporter FAQ

How giving helps, donation details, and other ways to support the mission.

How are donations used?
Donations support practical family assistance, youth aging out of care, community resources, and programs that connect families with long-term support systems.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, Restoryed Families is a registered nonprofit (501(c)(3)), and donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
Why give to Restoryed Families instead of directly to foster care agencies?
Many agencies handle placement and compliance. We focus on the missing layer—ongoing support, relationship-building, and practical help that prevents breakdown and strengthens families long-term.
Can I choose where my donation goes?
Yes, donors can often designate support toward specific areas such as youth aging out of care, family stabilization resources, or church partnership programs.
Can I volunteer instead of giving financially?
Yes. Volunteers are essential to our mission—especially in mentoring, resource support, and church/community engagement.

Church & Partner FAQ

How churches partner, what engagement looks like, and how to start.

How does Restoryed Families partner with churches?
We equip churches to identify, support, and walk with families in crisis in their own communities through practical tools, training, and ongoing support structures.
Do churches need to already have a foster care ministry to partner with you?
No. We help churches start where they are. Whether a church is just beginning or already involved, we provide a framework for deeper engagement.
What does church involvement look like practically?
It can include mentorship, meal support, transportation help, relational support for families, resource sharing, and long-term community walking alongside families in need.
Why is the church important in this work?
Because families don’t just need programs—they need relationships. Churches are uniquely positioned to provide consistent, long-term community support that systems alone cannot sustain.
Can our church start small?
Yes. Every level of involvement matters. Even one family being supported well can change long-term outcomes.
